X-Play's Best Of E3 Awards Tonight!

E3 might be over, but we're not done by a longshot. Tonight, X-Play returned to the air to bring your their Best of E3 Awards. This year's E3 brought a list of titles of unprecedented quality, but only a few were able to garner our label of Best of E3.What did you think of the decisions? Did LittleBigPlanet really deserve the title of E3 Best Of Show? Or should it have gone to revolutionary first-person action title Mirror's Edge?

id say that sony is better because iv been with sony since the original playstation and iv never been disapointed my fist game was jurassic park lost world and i think the reson that sony is so huge and has been around for quite a while and also that my online is free un less i buy packs or anyting from the store so i dont have to choose betwen my online gaming or buying the next best game on the shelf

I agree with blackseed, I heard the event it self was not that exciting to go to, but G4 did a great job putting focus on the games themselves.

Yea, I love Toyota and now I have a Nissan.. Xbox is clearly doing better than Sony right now. I have a PS2 and now I have an Xbox 360. Sony has a lot to catch up too. Games being the one thing they don't have. Exclusives which they are losing. Money which is the reason why they cannot do a price cut. PSN - which has delayed HOME over and over again. MGS4 which did not do as much as Call of Duty 4, Halo 3 or GTA4. US sales for PS3 is what??? 1.8 Million, Xbox 360 Sales which is what??? 10.5 Million in US sales. Yes, Sony is doing good, but they are not doing better. Not for a long shot. While they still work on the on going problems with delays, delays and more delays and losing more and more PS exclusives, then they are really headed in the wrong direction. This Christmas, we shall see. Now, in reguards to God of War 3. I will not hold my breath. Can be a 2009 winter or 2010 spring release.

It is 50 bucks per year. Get over it. If you can't afford that you shouldn't be worried about online play or gaming period.

As far as E3 goes...hard to choose. I was quite surprised by alot of the content this year. I figured this would be a so so year or extremely light year...however whether it was G4's presentation or just the sheer talent of the studios showcasing this year I am impressed and ready to dole out wads of cash.

Ghostbusters looked really good.

no hate here, but thats 1.8 mill just this year, just in the U.S.---they are on track to sell 10 million worldwide this year. Of course the xbox sells more, its cheaper. Im sure sams choice soda sells more than pepsi at wal mart too that doesent mean its better.

ill prolly pick up Prototype, Bioshock 2, Bionic Commando, and hopefully Age of Conan.

maybe halo wars...i like empire at war on PC, but not much of an RTS fan.

I agree. Left 4 Dead should be in place of Too Human. That game looks like pure fun, no matter what platform it's released for. Too Human has promise, but It won't be as popular as Left 4 Dead.

are you looking forward to KZ2? I'm not personally. Mediocrity was the tune of the first one...I don't see it getting any better since it is the same people doing it. Sorry, I'm just not a fan of looking forward to sequels of crappy games.

On that note...Bioshock will be much more applauded comparatively.

I'm looking forward to Killzone 2. I owned the first one, and it was no Halo 2, the best halo by the way, but it was cool, I liked it.

i have a 360 and i played the too human demo and im sorry but in all seriousness it was horrible i quit the demo in 3 minutes the graphics were horrible and when you fight your character can randomly lunge like 50 feet to hit someone it is just a stupid game it could have been good but games developers have to understand that no matter how good a story is if the graphics are horrible then it was a waste but the story is not good at all either. Graphics are what make the game interesting to roam around in or simply be able to look at the character the entire game. Here are some games to look forward to that actually have good gameplay and graphics along with cool ideas. Far Cry 2 graphics-awsome gameplay- very interesting roamable, Gears 2 graphics- way awsome gameplay- still way awsome, Fable 2 grpahics- awsome in a different sence though not in a realistic idea but still great and the gameplay- totally cool free roamable and the dog idea very new and very cool.

Banjo-Kazooie looks pretty awesome. Looks to be a Mario 64/Galaxies type platformer, and galaxies was great. Alan Wake looks promising. Looks like Silent Hill meets RE or something. I think Age of Conan is exclusive. Mass Effect 2 are Star Ocean will buy some of my time as well.

I guess you should prolly be more specific when making flamebait arguments, since I can't read your mind, and would be in mental anguish if I could. Exclusives...check. Ooooh PC, I guess if I want to play AoC with other PC players, then yeah, you got a point. But AoC on 360 will be exclusive to playing with other 360 players. That's how Funcom is going to do it in the end. Go read the boards a bit if you really believe the shared servers thing...

Pretty much looking forward to anything in 2009 is just going to be ppl's opinions since no one nows how good they'll be. Thus my point of why anything announced for 2009 shouldn't be in the awards list.

360 fails in every way possible, I don't believe it deserves any awards. It's so far behind the competition in stable hardware and decent games that it's sad people got suckered into buying one. I mean it's the most expensive console out there once you factor in the money you waste to play online for the average 5-6 year lifespan. And what does it have to show? Zilch. Wii wins unless Sony refocuses away from movies and non-games. They got plenty now but I need more. My PS2 collection stands at like 130 games, the variety is good. (No sports or FPS's as filler either.)

Oh and as for the Valve comments I read - they do suck. HL1 was great, but they ruined HL2 completely by infecting it with the Steam virus. All that program does it slow down and cripple both the game and PC, none of my other games have any issues. I've boycotted them until Steam goes away, which is a shame since I woulda tried the episode packs and Portal, but won't.

dude wii didnt win anything, they were lucky to even be invited to e3. I dont know if you saw dude but sony has a few good games coming out in the next 12 months, and to be honest imma have to buy like at least 15-20 games in the next year even though i have no time to play them

G4 you didn't play the conduit for the wii. Because if you did it would have been the best wii game there. Every other site seems to think so and I seem to think so. So what happened? High Voltage didn't let you see it.

I think what G4 did this year with E3 WAS AMAZING as they did with every year.I have always liked Sony because they have always brought good games to the table but this year not so much Resitance 2 looks nice but when it was being played during the Sony Conference it just looks like another Cheesey FPS as the first one did when i played it. Now God of War is ALWAYS a good title but, will it be a game where i can play it over and over and still enjoy it unlike its previous games. KillZone2 the game looks amazing and the Gameplay looks like it will match up to Halo3 maybe better cause Sony needs it. Little Big Planet looks fun for casual gamers i dont think it will be a very large game but it will be fun overall and I believe this game will make sony a decent amount of money.

Now the Xbox Games did very much impress me like Gears2 Fallout3 even Too Human. First im gonna start with Too Human, The game has gotten a lot of beef but its showing some of the best visuals and some really fun Gameplay.Gears2 is just FUN more than likely to make GAME OF THE YEAR with AMAZING VISUALS AND SOLID GAMEPLAY. Fallout 3 is bringing the RPG feeling of Eldar of Scrolls and an FPS feeling to it with Amazing Visuals and of course its also bringing a little comedy into it by killing your enemys with Teddy Bears now i will diffently enjoy myself with that. Halo Wars is on the balance beam right now it just seems that You have a base and you create units at that one Base which is ONE BUILDING you can upgrade your base to have turrets and build some type of addons to create Tank and Warthogs but is it just that.

Nintendo didnt have much to offer this E3 but the games it announced were pretty awsome and animal crossing is one of those casual games i like to play theres not much to say about it it still has the cheesey 64 graphics look that people enjoyed. Deadly Creatures looks like an enjoyable game gameplay looks simple and graphics looks good.

PC TIME! The PC has plenty of good games to offer like Left 4 Dead that looks like i will end up pissing my pants and screamin when 30 zombies pop up. Spore looks AMAZING i can already tell that i am going to enjoy creating monsters from every sort and elminating other Faction monsters from my planet.

I just want to Thank all of the G4 Studios for bringing us this amazing year to the viewers who were unable to make it to E3 and keeping us informed with daily news at E3! Us the Gamers Thank You :) :D :)
Last but not least i believe Microsoft was the Winner because of its partner ship with Netflix and because its offering some of the Best games this year and next and the Xbox is getting an AMAZING MAKEOVER As well

Well, well ,well. Looks to me G4 is finally understanding what I and other PS3 owners knew all along. They said it a plethora of times, "original", "Unique". They actually looked more excited talking about the PS3 then the other systems.

Im definitely waiting for Killzone 2, LBP, Infamous, and the 400$ 80G core pack. Im glad I waited to get a PS3 all this time, now I can get the best PS3 console and the best games for it.

And I would like to personally thank G4 for informin us on all things E3 because if they didnt, I prolly woulda wasted my money on food and rent this year and not this fantastic games.

And Id also like to say kudos to everyone on this comment list for not making a flamewar out of E3 and just making it about the games.

I also agree almost fully with the awards too. But I do think Fallout 3 (even though it's mp) or maybe Fable2 should have taken the spot for best of 360.. The gears showing wasn't really anything new.

g4 has stupid choices. best 360 is too human. ps3 is killzone 2. nintendo is just that retard in the corner pretending their awesome just cause they sell smartly. left 4 dead is also on the 360(check on gamefly .com if you want more proof.) fallout 3 is going to be the best game ever, since you can either play it as an rpg or fps. and spore pwns all in the ps3 crowd. if you want to be my friend on the 360, my gamertag is Max 1 Million.
also, gears one will do ok, but too human is the greatest single-player 360 game ever. many people know gears 2 will sell over 1 mil on their first day, but i hope too human will beat since it's awesome

xbox released one good exclusive and that is gears 2. all the rts and mmo bull crap on consoles dont count! wii had absolutely nothing this year! sony, well lets go down the list;

Ok, let's all take a few seconds, relax, and breathe. All the flaming on this board is makin me sweat so I'm just gonna drop my unbiased two cents in. The winner of E3 is...gamers.

The purpose of E3 has never been for one console to attempt to crush all other consoles with its mighty stable of software, or push sales figures down people's throats to make them feel like they're horrible people if they don't already own the best-selling console on Earth.

The real purpose of E3 is to bring together the three largest forces in the video game industry. I'm not talking about Sony, Nintendo, or Microsoft. I'm talking about the people who make games, the people who play games, and the people who keep the latter well-informed about the former.

All that being said, I really enjoyed keeping up with E3 this year. The PS3 might finally have enough quality games for me to buy one this holiday. Honestly, I think Infamous and Resistance 2 look they could be a little dull, but I'm really excited for LBP and Killzone 2 looks absolutely amazing.

As for the Xbox 360, Fable just isn't doing it for me but Gears of War 2 is going to be a must buy, and I loved the Too Human demo. For whoever was saying the story was bad, your claim is ridiculous, if not for the fact that it's basically a retelling of Norse(?) mythology, then simply for the fact that you've never played it, and could thus not know the story. I'm also excited for the DLC for GTA4 and for Fallout 3, because the exclusive DLC is going to make 360 my Fallout system of choice.

As for the Wii owners, if there were any losers at this years show, Wii are it. Alas, unless I'm playing one of the games I already have for Wii, mine will just be collecting dust.

I just sent out my Xbox 360 for the 2nd time in 2 years to be repaired, and no amount of,"free", xbox live will make up for it this time. When it comes back this time, I'm gonna be trading it in for a PS3. I like what Sony had to offer at this years E3, despite what the biased people at G4 had to say. Let's be honest, it seems like the folks at XPlay are in the pockets of Microsoft. Everyone mentions the,"blundering sales", of the PS3, but nobody says anything about the amount of money Microsoft lost on their little red ring o' death problem. I'm not trying to grief any one person in this message board, but I just think like an economist, and the better over all value seems, at least right now, to belong to Sony.

Hey dude, your numbers are wrong. It's 1.8 Million PS3 sold in US so far, 10.5 Millions Xbox 360 systems in US so far. 14 Million PS3's sold world wide, 20 Million Xbox 360's sold world wide. For Wii, its 25 Million sold world wide.. These numbers come from the NPD group..

I watched the E3 Conference for the third time again. Evaluating all three presintation. I still feel that Microsoft has the upper hand with exclusives, but not just game exclusives, but download exclusives also. If you watch the Fallout 3 demo again, he end by saying that downloads will be available exclusive on the Xbox 360. The same happend to GTA4, 1 Vs. 100 and so on. Now for me, Sony did okay. Resistance looks really good, Little Big Planet looks like alot of fun, and my personal Fave is God of War 3, sure to be a big hit for Sony, but there really nothing making me feel like I need a PS3 right now. I'm very happy with what Xbox 360 has to offer and I love the whole Netflix instant play thing. BTW, you can stream Bluray movies from Netflix instant play.

I've been reading a lot of these message boards and it seems that when these console wars start to take place that one of the main argument is that a certain console has more exclusive games coming out. But the problem is that you've never played these exclusives. So I have a question for most of you haven't we learned from such bad exclusives that how a game looks and how a game plays are two completely different things. not trying to start any wars or anything, I just want a MATURE answer.

I must say that there was nothing in either Sony or Nintendo's press conferences that made me think I needed to go out and buy either of their systems. Sony had some decent looking games, but nothing that blew my mind to the point that it made me think that I should go drop $400 on their overpriced system.

I'm glad I have a 360 because between the 360 exclusives and the multiplatform releases I'll have more games to play than I can possibly afford (both in money & time). Especially now that the 360 is getting FFXIII.

The Wii conference was a big joke. The Motion plus is not an advancement, Sorry Wii fans. My mother owns a Wii and I play it all the time. What I have a problem with is how the Wii-mote responds to the game. The Wii plus is just a fix to a problem that Nintendo is aware of with that motion controller. A good way to make extra money. Now a new faze of controllers will have the motion-plus built in. I state my case. So Nintendo should not call it an advancement, only unless the controller does something it was never design to do, then they can call it an advancement. Now, I was not happy to see that Nintendo had no games for the Hardcore gamer like they said they would. I don't care to much for the Wii music. I think it's really corny and they need to work on a better library.

Exclusives is not just about games anymore, it can also be downloads or extra features. Exclusives are very important to the big three. That's what is used to attract consumers to a product over the competition. Even if you haven’t played the game or have not even seen the download, it keeps the consumer interested. Take MGS4 for example. To most fanboys it means that their system will be supported by a game that will in fact bring consumers to purchase that game for that one system. Gears of War is the same thing. We now see a big change in the industry. Sony had dominated the industry for a long time. Sega was not much of a competition (even though I feel like the Dreamcast was a far better gaming system than PS2, but it did not have a DVD player built in at the time DVD's popular. So yea, many games are now finding its way out of the Sony exclusive list. Nintendo has never been on the same page so they were not catering to the same demographic.

wow dude...first of all, you're comparing a PS2 to a XBOX 360 lmao. Second, Sony outsold the XBOX by nearly 2 to 1 this quarter, which was mentioned on this site by the way, and at E3. Thirdly, MGS4 sold over 500,000 PS3 consoles in 2 weeks, far better than GTA4, GoW and Halo. Fourth, exclusives. Did you see any of E3 dude? PS3 has double the exclusives lol. LittleBigPlanet, Resistance 2, Killzone 2, Infamous, MGS4(already out), etc. And what does Xbox have? Halo wars(not that big), GoW 2, Fable 2 and Too Human(also not that big). Hate to say it buddy, but almost everything you said in your first post was completely false. And as for God of War 3, its for PS3, is it not? so whats your point?

i think the best of's are right this year. Gears is great don't get me wrong, but it's still shooting a bunch of stuff, much like it's competition. I saw some conversation on Too Human. I have to admit, from what I got from the demo, i was very disappointed. The gameplay was much too stiff, and as it was pointed out higher on the thread, the 50ft dashing was a bit of a cop out to me as well. Then there's the script. They're supposed to be accusing the main character of being too human, but the military speak is right out of GRAW. Odin sits at a desk. His very character undermines the war cries that bare his name. Nothing is lofty or convincingly full of itself which is what makes nors mythology so fun. Oh well, congratulations if you enjoyed it. That's all I can say.

You realize, of course, that just the Xbox 360 version of GTA4 sold 335,000 on the first DAY? Which, of course, smashed Halo 3's FIRST DAY sales record of 266,000.

Microsoft and Sony pay for exclusives. Sony on the other hand has been having small financial problems. The PS3 is expansive and it’s costing them more than they are making in revenue. So the money must be there to negotiate with third party developer. Now that is very important to the third party developers. Money is the driver to exclusives. If a game that you created was released on only one system, then how much of a loss is that when you know you personally would make more money developing the game on multiple systems. So to cover that loss, one company must pay big money, one to keep it exclusive and two, to cover that companies loss. Square made a financial decision, even though Sony paid to keep the game Final Fantasy 13 exclusive for PS3, but lost the exclusive in the US. Now Microsoft did not pay for the exclusive, Square-Enix projected a huge loss of revenue if they did not release the game on mutable systems in the US and Europe. Sony kept the exclusive in Japan only.

Did you read my comment? I was not comparing PS2 to Xbox 360. Read it again and slowly please.

US sales for PS3 is = 1.8 Million
US sales for Xbox 360 = 10.5 Million

Worldwide sales for PS3 = 14 Million
Worldwide sales for Xbox 360 = 20 Million

So even though they have sold more than the Xbox 360 for two months does not mean they have a huge penetration. NPD reported the numbers.

MGS4 made 500.00 in two weeks. GTA4 sold 335.00 in one day and Halo 3 sold 266.000 in one day. That means in two weeks, both games would have sold over a million copies. That is very poor for an anticipated game.

Work on the math..

and dude, their will be more amouncement for PS3 and Xbox 360 as we get closer to Christmas. There is more of a veriaty of games to keep any Xbox 360 gamer happy. Much more than both PS3 or Wii. PS3 has it's great games too, but their library is not much different than 360's library. I'm not a MGS fan anyway, but I am a FF13 fan and I was going to get a PS3 for that game, but now I don't have too. I have my Gears, COD4, Mass Effect, Lost Oddysee. I will get my FF13 (Very Happy about that, I will get my Resident Evil 5 and so on.

The real fact is this, who is making the best games? Is it the third Party developers or is it the first Party?

Third party developers are releaseing most of their games on both systems. So tell me, other than, Gears of War 2, Resistance 2, Fable 2, Little Big Planet, and so on. What is really different on the third party side. You get most games on both systems. I don't like MGS, but I do like to get my hands on Little Big Planet and God of War 3, but right now, it's not worth my $400.00 for that system. I don't really care to spend money on bluray movies either. I have cable HD. I have an Xbox 360 and I'm happy with my Xbox 360, it gives me what I want right now with no delays.

If E3 did one thing this year it told everyone that the arguement that the ps3 has no games is absolute bs at this point. I said 3 months ago that lbp would win goty and so far its not looking like a stupid prediction. Dlc isnt a big deal anymore to me, bioshock will have some but im not bragging about getting to play that. there are enough games for both systems. The ps3 has plenty of games though, and its now 400, not 600 eamaddame...so those who hate on the ps3 have no credible arguments

Thanks to everyone at G4. Everyone did a great job. Not only because you are all the good journalists we know you are, but you have listened to fans every year and have tighted up you E3 show to be THE BEST! Simply Awesome.

As a mature Wii60 owner it makes me more honest and less a fanboy so,... I say sony had the best conference, MS was good, Nintendo didn't even show up. Now if sony can add 3-4 more openworld games, and give us a better controller I'll get one when it's under $200.

Looking forward to Fable 2, Too Human, Saints Row 2, This is Vegas, Backbreaker, and DLC for GTA IV!

2 games? Xbox360 has more then 2 good games coming out next year for it and one isn't Halo Wars. RE5, Red Faction: Guerilla, the next call of duty from Infinity Ward., just to name a few.

Microsoft mostly showed games that are coming out this year because its smart marketing. That's why they didn't announce the new squad based Halo game that bungie is working on. They want ppl to talk about what they are going to buy in the next 5 months.

I will say PS3 did have a strong showing at E3. People talk about how they are losing exclusivity but from what i saw they didn't loss much at E3. FF13? Who cares, JRPGs have slowly worn off their carm for the western gamer. We like to play games were the male characters look male. Only the fanboys and gay man like girly looking men. (no offense to gay ppl in fact i am sorry i put you in the same line as a fanboy, your better then that)

I am so tired of people saying nonsense about PS3. Yes, 360 has sold 10 million units in America and the PS3 has only sold about 2 million. HOWEVER on total units sold around the world the wii has sold 29 million, 360 sold 19 million, and PS3 has sold 14 million units.

The PS3 has a lot of huge titles and exclusives out now and coming in the future. Also, the 360 has been losing exclusives as well or have you 360fanboys never heard of Bioshock, and as far as month to month sales the PS3 has been outselling the 360 for several months now. So give credit where credit is due.

PS3 will out sell Xbox in the long run do to Blue ray and the Japanese that refuse to buy American consoles. Also i wouldn't be shocked if in 2 years we hear about a new Xbox. Where we for sure wont hear about a new PS for at least 4 to 5 years.

We won't hear about another PS for at least 4 to 5 years because Sony makes its consoles to last for a long time, and Microsoft wants to make a whole new system because in a matter of a few years everything they put into their last system is outdated.

I know I sound like a complete Sony fanboy but I do like Gears and Halo I just don't like how people pick out a flaw in a system without looking at everything that is good about the system.

Well, I disagree with G4''s choices, but I have to give credit to Sony. They defended pretty well, even though a lot of stuff they showed is stuff that's been on the works for years, and they've been showing it over and over. I am tired of seeing it.

LBP is cute, but in no way the best of E3. And I am ticked off that RE5 didn't even get mentioned. I am with you ratmsgfrk.

Sony and MSoft had the best showing at E3. They brought out their best stuff and it's hard not to deny that MSoft didn't steal E3 with the announcement of FFXIII going multi-platform in the states. Sony fought back with pretty much all of their first party exclusives. The Wii on the other hand just plain failed. I dunno what the hell they were thinking. TGS is next month, so both Sony and Nintendo should announce either KH3 or announce a new Zelda game for the Wii. I'm thinking we'll see some FFXIII gameplay footage for the PS3 and 360.

to me the gameplay for infamous doesnt look that great, but im still hoping its good. LBP looks awesome, altho im not sure id be too great with the creator lol im gonna hav to rely on others creativity. i hate Oblivion, but Fallout 3 looks amazing. Left 4 Dead is what ive always wanted from a zombie game (altho Dead rising was very good) Gears looks stunning (of course). I dont really have an opinion on killzone 2. the first one sucked, and its hard for me to really look forward to this one, even with the graphics being so damn perrrrty. personally, i can NOT WAIT FOR mirror's edge. it has me really excited, because ive been really wanting a new IP to get excited about. I cant really put my finger on it, but i was kinda disapointed with resistance 2.

id say microsoft won overall, because its press conference was SO much better than both nintendos and sonys, and gears of war looks amazing. sony came close tho

I think the biggest thing going for LBP is what it aims for: creativity. For me, until I get a degree in graphics design or computer programming, this is the closest I'm gonna get. I truly hope the game live up the the whole "if you build it, they will come" strategy.

now i love my 360, but god i want little big planet and infamous so badly. those to games are the only games ive seen so far that truly peeked my interest in a ps3, and sony should thank them, because other than those two games, ps3 has nothing to offer that i cant get somewhere else, and im considering getting one just for these two games.

goddamn it i need something other than resistance 1 and mgs4 to play on the ps3! i see no point in playing a single player game for a second time, so im glad i got mgs4 as a rent, cuz mgo is not good (i wasnt really expecting it to be) resistance campaign is only fun the first time, and the multiplayer is ok. i dont see why i would play resistance online when i could just play halo or cod4 on my 360 in the next room. come on ps3! PLZ NEW E3 GAMES BE GOOD PLZ PLZ PLZ!!!

Okay...you cant compare PS3 sales to XBox sales, seeing how the Xbox has been out for over 1 year longer than the PS3 and its already almost surpassing it.

Fallout 3, by the way, is also for PS3, so you`re wrong there. Halo wars is not big at all, since its due to be released it what 3 months and there hasnt been any hype. Just face it, Gears of War 2 and maybe Fable 2 are the only games in the next year that Xbox has. ANd, even those games cannot surpass Resistance 2 or MGS4.

Did you guys ever notice that ALL Xbox games are either really short with good graphics, or really long with crap graphics, because there games are on a normal, what less than 10GB disc lol?...and i cant think of 1 PS3 game that has bad graphics when there not meant to be and/or really short...just look at MGS4: they couldnt even fit the whole game on one blu-ray disc, which is over 50GB, they had to take stuff out.

So, basically, all i'm saying is that the PS3 and Sony is surpassing Xbox and Microsoft, if they havent yet...just think of the PSN with Home and PSTV, just wonders in the future for Sony, and Microsoft has already even admitted than Sony has the upper hand not more than 5 days ago, they'll need a new system, they cant keep up the depth in graphics and size of games like the PS3.

@ Dragos10 no offense but do really think that graphics matter that much for a game to be good or not and how can you just cut games like Halo wars and left 4 dead out. Just because you don't think these games are important or "big" doesn't make it a fact not to mention and once again someone is assuming how great a game that hasn't even come out. how are you so sure that Gears 2 or Fable 2 can't surpass MGS4 or Resistance 2 and only play one of those games. I played MGS4 and loved it (currently going through story mode for the 4th time)

Come on people , did we forget consoles are about games? They only showed 2 good exclusives for the PS3(Resistance 2 and Kill Zone 2).Microsoft showed at least 3 times as many games.I bought a gaming system for its games and PS3 was sorely lacking in this department.Right now the PS3 is looking like a glorified Blu-ray player.I,m neither a Sony,Wii or Xbox 360 fanboy but I do like to play games.

Thats cause adult gamers like bookshelf and myself have thousands of dollars invested into our entertainment systems. We expect the games we play to be able to take advantage of our hardware (1080p and 7.1 surround). There is NO excuse for a ps3 exclusive to have mediocre graphics. The gameplay IS most important, but its 2008 and studios are spending tens of millions to produce games. I personally wont spend 60 bucks for a game that doesent look great. Soon most if not all ps3 exclusives will be in native 1080p. Theres just too many reasons not to buy a ps3 at this point. 1 more thing about sales...we dont care. I dont check the box office numbers before i go to the movies, i dont care how many teenagers play a game before i buy it...name one cd that wasnt pop music to go platinum 5 times over. I kinda dig the fact that ps3 membership is still somewhat exclusive

Their is a reason why the PS3 has been outselling the 360 since december 07, and that now the Wii has sold more in the U.S. than the 360.

360 no longer leads ANYWHERE, even with an ENTIRE year headstart. Its over, and Gears 1.5 I mean 2 will not save it.

Lol pretty much every game released before the ps3 came out.

all multiplats have no noticeable difference unless you put them side by side and zoom in about 10x, Also note that many multiplat games load faster and have less pop-in thanks to the ps3's hard drive.

I actually didn't buy MSG4 for its multiplayer, i bought it for its EPIC story. the MGO was a nice add-on though, and the expansion pack should make it even better.

speaking of "solid online experience"... as i recall there is only one 360 game that uses dedicated servers, Frontline Fuel of War...,so it could do that 45 players or whatever, which was an average game.

Most, if not all, ps3 exclusives that are online use dedicated servers to give gamers a smoother online experience.

lol since when was MGS4 a epic fail? according to megacritic, MGS4 averages a 94 out of 70 reviews ranging from 80 - 100. i'd say that's pretty damn good. def an AAA game.

there's no reason to get one! =D

Facts:
GoW is on PC (GoW2 will probably come out as well)
Mass Effect is on PC
Bioshock is on PC (and PS3 soon =D)
UT3 is on PC (we PC gamers got it before the 360 owners =D)
and since M$ LOVES getting money, Halo 3 will probably... nevermind, not worth it =D

We're not saying that any 360 games have terrible graphics, all we're saying is that the PS3 has the potential for better, and actually has a better graphics card than the 360. My point was that the PS3 disc (blue-ray) can hold over twice as much as a 360 disc(normal cd).

Therefore, the PS3 graphics are far better and games are mich longer because of the card and disc size.

Little Big Planet won because its different. Almost all the game u guys r mentioning r the same. Resistence,Gears, and RE5 all relate with zombies,aliens,gore.LBP is gonna be huge also because u can make things and its easy bto share.and sharing is rlly the new thing now.

Microsoft owned ps3 an lame ass kidtendo at e3, just think if bungie's next halo game was announced along with possibly a blu-ray 360 this winter or early next year ? lol.

despite that though, 360 getting new dash, new exclusive games, bigger marketplace, but mainly by stealing FF from sony, since it was their prized exclusive rpg for many many years, and now it will most likely see better sales on the 360 than the ps3, which will be yet another blow down the road.

As far as stealing FF13,xcrap only gets it in the US.
Microsuck got pwned at E3 they have 2 big exclusives gears and halo wars(gay).
They need a new halo fps to keep that red ring of death turd going.
Damn near everything microsuck showed during thier press conference is going to be on PS3 at the same time.RE5 and Fallout 3.
I hope xcrap adds blu-ray,just more money for Sony.By the way how is your HD-DVD player workin for ya?

The 400 and 500 dollar units at launch dropped to what 300 and 400.
Now they are dropping again....probably cause sales are lagging.
While you xbot fanbois are at it whining that you don't have hardly any exclusives for hardcore gamers,why not add vista(garbage) to your piece of crap console it might help you out with the Red Ring Of Death problems that keep coming up LMAO.Have fun playing 1vs100 hahaha.

First and foremost, there is no real way for one console to be 'better' than another one...it's personal opinion. Sure, you can compare specs, the PS3 and 360 may have better graphics processing, but the Wii is outselling them. The only reason people are biased as to which game consoles are the 'best' is because their friends don't like them, the media beats into their skulls that they are the best or that they simply don't have or can't afford the other consoles.

Second, exclusives may be nice, but in the long run it is probably more detrimental to sales than it benefits them. I can guarantee that if, say, GOW2 was released on PS3, 360, PC and even the Wii, that their sales would at least double. The reason that a game might go from an exclusive to multiplatform wouldn't be because one system 'sucks', its so that they get more sales or enough fans of the game want it but can't afford another system.

and Third, every game system has it's faults, the red ring of death for the 360, the price and lower sales for the PS3, and most people criticize the wii for its graphics. For the PC it's the fact that you constantly have to upgrade your PC for new games. Personally, I have a PS3, 360, DS, PSP, a PC and plan on getting a Wii...and I'm content with all of the systems and games that I have.

As for online, I don't really like nintendo's system with the friend codes, I tend to lean towards PS3 games if they have an online feature do to the fact that there aren't fees, but unlike live, because there aren't fees, the PS3 servers are more unstable (or run from hosts) than the 360 and the benefit of nintendo's system is that you can keep annoying people out. As I said before, each system has it's own benefits and shortcomings.

I'm sick of all of the people in the world that have the mindset of 'there's only one way to do something' or 'there is this and only this, anything else is just a knockoff.' And if you want to talk about whose been around longer in the main three gaming systems, its nintendo, not sony or microsoft.

Also, the fact that G4 may list these titles as the "best of" doesn't mean that they *are* the best of. It's their opinion.

One more thing: It REALLY would be nice if people could type a sentence above a third grade level. It really hurts my brain to try to read: 360 is best consal evre....

Woah people are really hating the PS3 i mean i owned a xbox 1 and i thought it sucked so i got a ps2 and loved it but now i have a 360 and im happy why cant people want happiness my god its like if you fell you spent your money incorrectly then buy a new one. Jeez i havent had the RROD and i probably wont if i do i dont care im covered ill just send it out and be back to playing. I say PS3 Wii and Xbox fans hate each other but im just a gamer. I bought my console for fun i fell i made the right decisian plus i dont give a f$#% about exclusives i just want to play give me fallout 3 its not like because its not exclusive to the 360 i wont play it chill guys

I own a 360 and a ps3

After my THIRD ring of daeth i decided not to wait another month and the next day i picked up a ps3.
Now i'm sold to ps3.
I still turn on the 360 every now and then but only for gears of war and i will get gow2 as well 'cause it kicks butt. But i refuse to pay Micro$oft any more than i already do. I will not pay for online gaming, (when did you had to pay for multiplayer when you played online on a pc??)
Microsoft is slowly killing the gamer community and the money is not at all spent on game-developing or anything else it's just to fill the bottomless pockets of microsoft.
What the hell, i don't experience any differency playing CoD4 on 360 or PS3. no lag nothing. PSN is working great and it IS getting better i'm so glad that my 360 got that ring of death otherwise i never bothered to buy ps3!

And by killing the gamer community i mean buying th exclusive download rights for gta4 and now maybe fallout 3 as well, they're just either scared the game would sell better to ps3 or they will miss the MONEY you'll have to pay for those updates.
It's all about the money and less for the gamer.
Screw M$ and al the doublecrossing game developers who scored big when their titles launched on psx and ps2.

The only good xbox exclusive is gears 2. PS3 has Little Big Planet, Socom, Resistance 2, Killzone 2, God of War 3, and Infamous to name a few. Face it xbots, your crashbox 360 does not have the better games coming up.

I'm pretty sure Sony was the main if not a major contributer to the creation of the format.So they would stand to make tons of money on any blu-ray being made either for movies or games.

dont mean to offend but if you guys are true gamers than you would see how all the systems have there own great titles. as for myself and most of my friends we have all 3 systems. i jump from system to system depending on what title looks better. so stop your whinning about cost. ps3 and 360 are alot closer in price now than a year ago. i love my 360 elite and ps3 hell i even enjoy playing the wii.

oh yeah i even play on the pc, but only if its a title i cant play on one of the platforms. i just dont like being limited to any one system. loved gow and mgs4. cant wait for gow2,lbp,god of war 3,ect. actually most of the titles they showed on g4 look great for 360 and ps3. kinda disapointed on wii but they will come out with something. just gives me more time to play 360 and ps3
