CEIVAlife Digital Picture Frame Review

Since it's gadget gift month here at Attack, we thought we would let you know about a pretty good digital picture frame from CEIVA that has Wi-Fi and phone connectivity, a built-in memory card reader, and a max resolution of 1280 x 960.

What You Need to Know

  • It connects wirelessly or wired, you're going through a lot of steps
  • Everything is explained clearly, but navigation is tough using the buttons on the bottom
  • For instance, if you wanted to set up your Wi-Fi connection, you go to menu, connection settings, wireless settings, set up wireless, and then enter your password
  • This is definitely not "easy" for anyone to set up
  • All aspects of the frame can be maintained directly from the Ceiva website
  • You can upload pictures from your hard drive or you can e-mail photos to an e-mail address specific to your frame
  • It then drops in to your incoming queue, and the next time the frame syncs with the site your pictures are added
  • You can even customize pictures by adding text, cropping, rotating, etc.
  • There are tons more features like ordering prints, adding channels for news and weather, etc.
  • The point is, you can set this up at your parents house and add content from anywhere you have an internet connection, in addition to displaying from a memory card
  • In the frame, everything looks pretty good
  • It only displays at a max resolution of 1280 x 960, so it will automatically resize anything larger than that
  • It doesn't look any better than you'd expect, but it does the job
  • The frame also has swappable faceplates

Price

  • $160
  • There is normally a yearly fee of $100 in addition to the cost of the frame, but Ceiva is running a deal where you get a year of service, plus the frame for only $200
