LG Voyager

Technology moves and it moves fast. One day you’re feeling like hot stuff because you’re the only guy strutting around with a beige cell phone that’s the size of a brick and the next day all of your friends are laughing at you because you’ve got no idea what a Bluetooth headset is.

Nobody wants to get left behind, but with new technological marvels hitting store shelves every day, how are you supposed to figure out what smart phone is right for you or which personal media player won’t make you look like a total dork? There’s only one way, watching Gadget Pr0n with the only people who can keep you from being left in the digital dust.

Today, they'll review the LG Voyager.

Also, are you a friend to the Earth? Then check out GCycle... it's G4's new initiative to try and get you to be a better person and recycle tech stuff!

LG Voyager

  • Large 2.8” color touch screen
  • Send, end, and clear buttons on front that are nicely hidden
  • Opens up to reveal another 2.8” screen with full QWERTY keyboard
  • 2 megapixel camera
  • Micro SD camera
  • Support for EV-DO Network and V-cast Mobile TV
  • Web browser and GPS app
  • Touch feels cheaper than the iPhone and isn't as responsive; While trying to scroll through contacts, you will accidentally select or dial out
  • QWERTY keyboard is ten times better than the iPhone. One of the best phone keyboards ever, and there are no accidental keystrokes like on the iPhone's touch keyboard
  • Verizon's standard UI is still a bit lame
  • No Wi-fi on the Voyager and Verizon's internet experience is too slow
  • You can scroll and touch your way through the web with the Voyager just like the iPhone but it's too clunky
  • V-cast mobile TV is nice to watch on the internal screen, but Verizon's service is still slow
  • Built-in GPS on the Voyager, whereas the iPhone has none
  • iPhone beats the Voyager in hardware alone, but Verizon's network destroys Cingular
  • Basically, if you want to look sweet dropping calls, buy the iPhone, but if you want be able to talk anywhere and not have the best phone, buy the Voyager
