World's Oldest Cannabis Found
Posted By: Sinden Lee - Tuesday, December 02, 2008 10:46 AM

Researchers have found the oldest reserve of marijuana in an isolated area of China.

It was found in a tomb, dating back 2,700 years. In the Journal of Experimental Botany, researchers say it was definitely "cultivated for psychoactive purposes," as opposed to fiber for clothes or food.

789 grams of cannabis was found. The cannabis was buried along with a "light-haired, blue-eyed Caucasian man, likely a shaman of the Gushi culture, in Turpan in northwestern China."

They also found it next to a half eaten box of Twinkies that was still edible.

You'd probably have to smoke a lot of it to get high. It's a lot more potent now due to human cultivation.

Ironically the translation on the name of the tomb was "The Great Bogart".

Some of the reactions here give gamers such a bad reputation. Not all techies are "pot smokers". Show some maturity.
