You know how you have to sit down with your mom for like the hundredth time to teach her how to check her cell phone messages or how bewildered your dad gets when you tell him that he has to download the latest version of java?

Sorry to say it, but your parents are techtarded (or technologically handicapped for the politically correct) and you will be one day too unless you keep watching Gadget Pr0n.

You don't want to end up like grandma, do you? No, you don't want to get so out of touch with technology that you start to believe that PDAs are powered by ghosts.

On today's Gadget Pr0n we'll review the Archos 605.

Also, are you a friend to the Earth? Then check out GCycle...it's G4's new initiative to try and get you to be a better person and recycle tech stuff!

Archos 605

  • Outstanding 800 x 480 video resolution
  • Smudge Resistant Touch Screen
  • Kickstand lets it rest on a surface rather than having to hold it in your hand
  • Wi-Fi grabs content from YouTube, Cinema Now and Burn Lounge
  • Drag and drop hard drive support
  • Reasonably priced- the 160 gig model costs $500, the 30 gig model costs $300 and the 4 gig is only $200
  • You don’t need to buy plug-ins, but you will want to
  • Adobe Flash enable opera browser costs $30
  • Unit detects when you play video and switches to full screen mode
  • High-Definition video playback, internet radio and some audio and video formats cost $20 a pop
  • The DVR station accessory is $99 and lets you display your internet content and even surf the internet on your TV
  • Helmet camcorder is high-res and has a microphone
  • DVR Travel Adapter lets you record video from any source

I got it a few weeks ago, and I have to say I'm pretty impressed. The DVR station is supposed to be delivered tomorow. The Archos 605's screen is unbelieveable, doesn't compare to any other pmp. The 160 gig model is only $400, i dont know where they got $500 from. If you're looking for something that has alot more space than the iPod Touch, this is it. Mac compatible too. I love it.

Actually you can get this for $279 at Amazon and for only $239 if you go to http://forum.archosfans.com/vi ewtopic.php?t=6819 and follow the instructions there. Very easy and with the savings you can treat yourself to an add-on or accessory.
