I just watched it...and yes...that wasn't funny at all. If they're going to make fun of Adult Swim and publish it for the world to see, they should at least show an ounce of intelligence and sport a sense of humor.

Well apparently National Lampoon thinks little of their viewers in believing that using words like gay and motherf***er will make people laugh.

It is completely blatent crap, and like whats already been say:

To rip on the Adult Swim guys because they're entertaining when National Lampoon hasn't been for 30 years.

It is just lame. John Saleeby needs to have a good ole' fashioned beat down, because apparently he has too much time on his hands to make junk like that.

Lampoon got what they deserved. The things they were saying about Adult Swim were just plain rude and uncalled for. But G4 and AOTS hit the nail right on the head with their spoof line about Lampoon made my grandfather laugh once.

Well Adult Swim won't be getting their revenge through Robot Chicken, because though they are currently working on a new season of it, the new episodes won't be around for quite a while yet. But they will more than likely have something to say in their bumps.

I wonder if National Lampoon will try to take a little revenge out on AoTS, if they do I hope that at least make it funny.

To be fair, National Lampoon *did* made me laugh - back when I went to college in the late 1970s. This, on the other hand, was like trying to read one of those right-wing "comic strips" like DAY BY DAY or MALLARD FILLMORE - virulently out of touch and not remotely humorous.

I agree, BTW, with aphex on getting in touch w/National Lampoon - if you do, don't be hostile or flame them. They'll just think it means they're "edgy" or something....

Wow, National Lampoon, a company I thought died with the 80's, really took the high road here. They might have lost some of their fanbase, which shouldn't be hard, since the Lampoon fanbase as it stands today is 4 people in Des Moines, Iowa still watching Animal House for the 4,000th time.

The very little bit of TV that I watch is usually either G4 of Adult Swim... and the movies I watch sure aren't those put out by National Lampoon. He just seems pissed that people are enjoying the Network, and no one watches National Lampoon's stupid fart jokes and aren't atracted to all the nudity in the films...

What was with them saying listen to "black music?"

By the way, there are tons of new National Lampoons movies that I keep seeing come in at work, but I can't recall anyone buying any of them...

Well if national lampoon was looking for another way to be even lamer, they've found, and done it. Van Wilder wasn't cool, that has to be the most cliche'd movie ever(any movie with tara reid(yawn-tara reid as a reporter??? yea, and i'm really a space astronaut who flies into space without a suit and shuttle at will), and dorm daze blew, like lines in studio 51. Adult swim is freakin awsome!!! Aqua Teen Hunger Force is the greatest show EVER!!!(aside from Attack of the Show of course.) So surely it at least deserves some recognision for a select few of its shows.(Family Guy, ATHF, FLCL, Samurai Champloo, Harvey Birdman, Space Ghost, American Dad, and Venture Brothers.)

Animal house was good the first few times. Nothing they have done ever hold a candle to Adult Swim. I just don't see how they can spoof on them after 30 years of sub par hilarity. Hey, all - my name's Jay. I'm the Managing Editor of the National Lampoon website.
I'm actually a big fan of Adult Swim. I own the first season of Harvery Birdman and I think it's absolutely brilliant. The Adult swim idea was submitted to me by the very funny John Saleeby (also a frequent contributor to McSweeneys) -- I chuckled at it and thought it'd be fun to put up.

I don't choose the movies that NL puts out. Truth be told, I don't WATCH the movies NL puts out. I mean, I'm in a tiny office at the absolute back of the building. I've got as much inside info as the next guy what NL's gonna attach their name to next.

I'll eat crow here that it obviously wasn't received in any way like I'd meant. I DO like Adult Swim; I'm under no illusions about the films my boss's boss's boss's boss puts out. I'm just a 28-year-old dude trying to put up stuff that makes me and my friends laugh. The Adult Swim piece had some funny lines in it.

If Lampoon didn't suck before, they suck now. That crap was borderline racist, blatantly homophobic, and showed a whole assload of jealousy on their part because no one cares about them anymore. Lord. mastercheif912003, it isn't ALL about a race issue, and if you think that you are totally lost. They are making fun of Adult Swim because they're funny, and NL isn't. Period. I don't see Dave Chappelle flipping off SNL because his own show doesn't cut the mustard. It's about respect - AS is a funny show. I remember when I first started watching it, my 5am gym routine was put on a 5 month hiatus cuz I was always too tired to go in. The last time I thought about NL was when I saw "Christmas Vacation" about to air for the 15,392nd time on TBS, and flipped the channel off.

If they want to make fun of AS, have at it, they're grown ass people and they can take it. Taking their jealousy at AS and using derrogatory, inflamatory comments about culture and sexuality to make it stick is childish.

I didn't get to see Friday's ep. so I'm pretty bummed about not getting to see Seanbaby and Kevin's witty comments on National Lampoon, but I'm sure they gave it a good lashing. I enjoy Adult Swim. It's good fun. I don't enjoy grouchy people who rant on about everything. They aren't good fun.

Any network that could raise Family Guy from cancellation hell AND finally give the nation a chance to see Neon Genesis Evangelion does not deserve the mean spirited and completely unfunny so-called "bashing" that National Lampoon dished out. If anyone hasn't seen the flash animation that NL did, don't. These guys don't deserve the money they make on hits to their site.

I used to like the Adult Swim bumps, but now they are getting a bit repititive. Don't get me wrong, I think the NL was crap, but AS needs to step up they're game. They're starting to become olde. Yeah, I must say that National Lampoon as old now unsucessful as they are hit the nail right on the head. Just hearing you guys rant on how great and innovative Adult Swim's blaintly horrible and not to mention retarded animation is proves every point they made. If you seriously think Aqua Teen Hunger Force is "Awesome" you should be shot. It makes me sick when people with so little actual talent can make so much money over actaully skilled people with a life. JayPink - I hope you meant that "humor is *subjective*", not "objective". Which it certainly is, given that you considered John Saleeby's Flash lampoon of the ADULT SWIM intertitles to be funny. Personally, I found it to be ponderous and juvenile - sorry, but cracks about gays and dropping the F-bomb stopped being "daring" when Jimmy Carter was President.

Yeah, the ADULT SWIM bumps have gotten repetitive (though the one taking on NATIONAL LAMPOON was pretty funny!), and I'm not in love with a lot of their programming. But then again, just b/c I don't like it doesn't make it's invalid....

I used to be an software engineer for a company called brightpoint, in Indianapolis, IN-To make a long story short the owner of Brightpoint Mark Howell, also owns NL and he had some employees over to watch a rough cut of their new movie starring Bud from "married with children" and a washed-up bon jovi, the room went totally silent, and people soon filed out of his basement movie theater. Its called Trouble With Frank, I would tell you to look for it in theaters, but its going straight to video. AS def has the last laugh

I feel almost sorry for NL with all the anti-NL comments on here. I guess the limited pity I have for them is expressed as such... NL makes good movies once in a while. Their older movies (Vacation) are still funny, even today. Adult Swim, on the other hand, is very funny in a different way. Some of their content remains exceeding funny to me after numerous viewings. I frankly see this video as a disappointment. I was expecting something much better. The thing just lacked any basis in truth and was very shallow on the wit. :( boo!

hmmm, notice they didnt put anything decent in that bit?, well Futurama is great, dont know about the rest, least they didnt say anything about the Venture Bros, the harveybirds#!t thing is true, the family guy thing is def true and they're not even showing the new eps on there, it's on fox. birdcrap and sealab with their recycled images, guess creativity isn't easy these days.
But I'm sure most of you are under 17 and are all about potty jokes and what not, so thats why most of you think adult swim is the best. So c'mon little sheep fall over the edge of the cliff.
