World’s Largest Arcade: Behind The Scenes
Posted By: Eugene Morton - Monday, November 12, 2007 4:44 PM

Last Friday Attack of the Show made history by earning a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records for the World’s Largest Arcade Machine. It was a momentous occasion, one which didn’t come without a lot of blood, sweat and tears… mostly from our accountant, because having that thing built was super expensive, but we digress.

We ask you, please take a moment and look at what it took to transform the gamer’s equivalent of the Colossus of Rhodes from an 8-bit fantasy into a full blown reality.

Attack This: Legendary Games
Posted By: Eugene Morton - Monday, November 12, 2007 4:40 PM

Son, you’ve got game! Rather, you’ve got games. This bevy of hot titles is begging, screaming, yearning to be played. How can you resist their siren song? You can’t.

Don’t fight it. Just smash open your piggy bank, run to your local game store and tell ‘em Attack of the Show sent you. It won’t get you a discount or anything, but it will make you look cool and that’s important, though not as important as upping your gamer score.

Olivia, The Exploder
Posted By: Eugene Morton - Monday, November 12, 2007 3:30 PM

We like it when things asplode and it just so happens that Olivia does too. Our mutual love of asploding got us to thinking, we should totally film her blowing crap the hell up and so we did!

Damn, it was satisfying! Too bad you weren’t there. Fortunately, you can relive it through the miracle of television. Lucky you.

Dr. Steve-O
Posted By: Eugene Morton - Monday, November 12, 2007 12:05 PM

When you think of health and wellbeing, undoubtedly you think “Steve-O.” He’s just the model of a person whose focus is on living well and living long.

Not being the self centered type, he wanted to bring his message of healthier, balanced living to Attack of the Show, specifically to Kevin Pereira in the forceful, but gentle way we’ve come to expect from Dr. Steve-O.

What’s that mean? Well, there’s only one way to find out, but trust us, it’s going to be crazy!

The Writer's Strike
Posted By: Eugene Morton - Monday, November 12, 2007 11:50 AM

Whenever you come home from a hard day’s work, collapse on your couch and turn on the TV, and more and more increasingly, the computer for some old fashioned escapism, more likely than not, you don’t even think about the people who laid the foundation for the programs you enjoy, the writers. Sure, it’s easy to focus on the attractive cast and exotic locales, but without writers, those hot actors wouldn’t be there and there certainly wouldn’t be any exotic locales to speak of.

Now, those people, members of the Writers Guild of America are striking, demanding a portion of revenues made from the digital distribution of the product (i.e. TV shows), which they helped create, but major studios are reluctant. The stalemate could go on for a while and the stockpile of programming stored up for this very occasion won’t last forever. Will the writer’s strike ruin television?

Debating the issue we’ll have Film Threat’s Chris Gore and Michael Schneider, Editor for Variety.

Today On AOTS!
Posted By: Eugene Morton - Monday, November 12, 2007 9:29 AM

Greetings and salutations! Monday is upon us and rather than trudging into work, most of you are honoring our veterans by resting snug in bed and playing Call of Duty 4. Good for you! You’re not even going to have to rush home to enjoy what’s in store for you in this installment of AOTS.

On today’s show we’ll review the latest, greatest gizmos on Gadget Pr0n, face our fears with the infamous Steve-O and tackle the day’s most important stories in The Loop. Videogames with an Attack of the Show chaser? Someone’s going to have a great day!

World’s Largest Arcade Console
Posted By: Eugene Morton - Friday, November 09, 2007 5:00 PM

If there was a Guinness World Record for “Best Show on Television,” we’d have it, but there isn’t, so we had to get into the record book some other way.

We thought a lot about it and then we remembered that we wasted most of our youth playing arcade games (yes, there was a time when not every kid had a PS3, Wii or Xbox 360).

That’s when we decided to build the world’s largest arcade console and so we did, making history yet again.

Also, why not take a look at the behind the scenes photos?

Attack This: Exotic Tech

Take a second and look into your wallet. See those green slips of paper? Kiss them goodbye. Sure, they were only recently acquired from two weeks worth of hard work, but it’s already time to say farewell, because you’re going to have to spend them to get today’s stuff.

Parting is such sweet sorrow, but not when you have killer swag to keep your mind distracted.

Alright, put that Hi8 camcorder away, stop listening to those cassette tapes and for the love of Blu-ray, hide that Betamax player!

There’s no reason to hang on to technology from the 80’s (or the 90’s for that matter). We understand, years ago, before AOTS, there was no way you could know that laser discs weren’t going to make a comeback.

Now, there are people here to help you sort that kind of stuff out. Please, accept their help. You don’t want your friends and family to perform a gadget intervention, do you?

Today, they’ll review the Canon 1D Mark III.

Also, are you a friend to the Earth? Then check out GCycle... it's G4's new initiative to try and get you to be a better person and recycle tech stuff!

Joss Whedon Two: Electric Boogaloo
Posted By: Eugene Morton - Friday, November 09, 2007 12:58 PM

We can’t get enough of that Joss Whedon. He created Buffy and Angel, he made the X-Men cool again and he’s worked on a bunch of awesome TV and movie projects. In fact, we like the man and his work so much that we had him sit down for a second interview.

This time instead of just talking about the Angel Box Set, we focused on all things Whedon. Yep, later today, AOTS will become your portal to the Whedonverse and you’ll want to be there when it opens. Portals to the Whedonverse don’t stay open all day, you know.

On The Set Of 'Chuck'
Posted By: Eugene Morton - Friday, November 09, 2007 11:48 AM

Chuck is a nerd fantasy come true. What a concept! One day you’re Joe Average, working at a Geek Squad type place, the next you’ve got CIA secrets floating around in your brain as you fight evil with your blonde bombshell of a partner.

We wanted to join the cast, but they wouldn’t let us. So, we visited the set instead, which was still pretty cool. Tune in later to see just how cool it was.

Tokyo Motor Show Day 3
Posted By: Eugene Morton - Friday, November 09, 2007 11:22 AM

Concept cars are awesome, but how many of them will ever actually hit the streets? Even if they do, it’ll be a while. Who wants to wait?

Not Big C, so on the last day of the Tokyo Motor Show he took a look at the cars which will be rollin’ on 22”s in 2008, not 2018. Keep your eyes peeled player, the whips you see today might magically appear in your neighbor’s driveway in the not too distant future.

Today On AOTS!
Posted By: Eugene Morton - Friday, November 09, 2007 10:25 AM

Yesterday, we promised that the show would be hot and it was. Today, we promise it’s going to be big! How big? Bigger than it’s ever been… literally!

You see, on today’s show we’ll toss a few quarters into the World's Biggest Arcade Cabinet, visit the set of the hit show, Chuck and look at even more great autos at the Tokyo Motor Show. If that’s not a big show, we don’t know what is.
